It has been a beautiful day here at my home. I spent all day outside enjoying the warm sunshine and the breeze blowing through the trees. Last night was a stormy one but now all the storms have passed through the area and the earth has again been kissed by the sunshine and the gentle fall of the rain on the tree leaves and the grass on the lawn.
I love the storms and especially the way the air smells of rain after the storm has left. My little granddaughter came home from school today and she brought me the special art project she had made for me. It was indeed a surprise. I have been waiting for over 3 weeks for her to bring it home.
It was a handmade fish that she sculpted out of modeling clay. She made it look so lifelike. I have it on my desk by her picture. I am so proud of her. She told me that she wants to go to college and become an Art teacher. I know that she may very well do this as she loves to create things for me. She loves to paint and make things out of modeling clay.
The Art teacher at her school kept her fish so she could put it on display. I praised her accomplishment as she did such a fine job of creating this fish. She made it with a tongue hanging out of its mouth. I didn’t tell her that it wasn’t supposed to have a tongue. But I don’t know if fish really have tongues. I have never seen a fish that did.
She had painted it blue and pink and painted silver stars all over its body. I am going to take a picture of it and put it up on my blog site so everyone can see it.
I am proud of her as you can tell by now. But what grandparent or parent isn’t proud of their grandchildren or children. We all are.
She came back in this evening from playing with her cousins and best friend and she took a nap. When she woke up she had a terrible cough. I know that she suffers from allergies just like her father does at this time of year. She didn’t have a fever but she had a runny nose. I gave her some medicine and it is now 10 o’clock and she is now fast asleep. I know that she seemed tired this afternoon when she was out playing with the kids.
I do hope she is feeling better tomorrow when she wakes up. It isn’t fun being sick at any time in our lives. She doesn’t like to stay in and not being able to go out and play when the weather is nice. She enjoys being outside running and riding her bike with her cousins and friends in the neighborhood.
All the children around here go from house to house to play each day. It won’t be but a few more weeks and school will be out for the summer again. I haven’t made any plans to go on vacation as of yet. Still trying to decide what I want to do and where I want to go that I haven’t been before.
I haven’t been to Pigeon Forge to go to the Dolly Wood theme park here where I live yet. I hear that it is a very exciting place to go on a summer vacation. Almost like the Six Flags in Ohio and Missouri. I hope that I have the 2 states right for that theme park. I know that there is a Six Flags in Ohio but I am not sure which city it is in.
There are so many places to take a vacation at in the United States and all over the world. I just need to decide where I want to go. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate your stopping by my blog site and leaving a comment on the places you think I might be interested in. Thank you.
It is so quiet here in the house with my little granddaughter now asleep. I am using this quiet time to write about what has been going on today around here.
I am still checking out all the blog sites I can find. I try to follow as many as I can. Everyone is writing such interesting posts and I do love reading each one.
I believe I will try to find a good movie on the internet and watch it on my television. I have found out how to hook my computer up to my television and enjoy the movies. I love being able to do this. I had asked my son when he was here the last time if he could hook my computer up to the television for me but he couldn’t stay long enough to do this for me. I took the time and read the directions on my Rabbit TV site and was able to connect it without having to ask anyone for help.
I am not technology savvy and I have a lot of trouble trying to do things like that but for once in my life I surprised myself and did it perfectly. I just couldn’t believe I did it all by myself and I told my son what I had managed to do without asking him. He was surprised and told me the next time I needed help to please ask and he would make sure he would stop by and help me with the assembly of putting furniture or hooking up some kind of electronic device for me.
He did tell me that I did a good job on my own. I am glad that I was able to do this. Now maybe I won’t have to ask anybody all the time for help.
But however, skydiving is one thing that I will never attempt to do.
I will write more tomorrow when I have time to do so. Until then, everybody stay healthy, happy and safe. Keep blogging!
See you later,
